The minimum permitted age to order goods from this Website is 18 years old.

Placing an order
When you place an order with Harmsworth, Townley & Co. Ltd you are making an offer to purchase the items you have selected. Harmsworth, Townley & Co. Ltd reserves the right to accept or decline that offer.

When ordering goods using this site, you are entering into a legally binding contract. UK law is applicable.

While placing your order online you will have plenty of opportunity to correct any mistakes before final submission. When we receive your order you will be sent an e-mail from us confirming the goods that you have ordered and that we have accepted your order subject to our terms & conditions. Alternatively we may refuse your order for any reason, in which case you will be duly informed.

The total cost of your order will be the price of the products that you have ordered plus any applicable delivery charge. The full amount of your order including VAT will be clearly shown before you submit your order.

All products for sale on this site are subject to availability and you will be notified of any shortages. The quantities showing in stock on the website are purely indicative as stock levels are updated once a day.

If you change your mind for whatever reason just return the unused item(s) in their original unopened packaging to Harmsworth, Townley & Co. Ltd accompanied with the receipt/invoice, a reason for the return and an RRN (Returns Reference Number) we will be pleased to provide you with an exchange or refund without fuss giving you total peace of mind. All prices are in UK pounds sterling and are exclusive of VAT at the current rate.

Ownership of the goods will not pass to the customer until full payment has been received.

Payment can be made securely using one of the following methods:
MasterCard/Visa/Switch/Solo/Maestro card via our Website or by fax, post or telephone (Where there will be someone to speak to in person). We also accept cheques, banker’s drafts, or electronic bank transfer (subject to £25 bank charges). All payments are subject to validation checks and where required, authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment refuses to authorise, we have the right to cancel the order.

We aim to hold all items in stock, however there may be rare occasions such as unprecedented demand or delays from our suppliers when there may be occasional delays in the delivery of your order. If this does occur then you will be notified either by telephone or email.

We despatch all orders for next day delivery on receipt of cleared funds or credit card payment authorisation. Harmsworth, Townley & Co. Ltd will advise regarding the delivery date for out of stock items. We either deliver using a courier from Monday through to Friday or by post. We require a signature for all deliveries by courier and goods will not be left anywhere by our couriers unsigned for.

Goods will be delivered to the address you have given at the time of order. Please note Harmsworth, Townley & Co. Ltd will not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges, or expenses caused by any delay in delivering goods that are beyond our reasonable control ie force majeur, rioting, floods, fire etc.. In the unlikely event that your product is lost or damaged in transit please contact us immediately.

Risk and loss of and damage to products passes on to the customer on the date of the first attempted delivery by us of the products ordered. We cannot accept any liability for loss or damage to products that remain in our custody and care because you were unavailable to receive them

Damaged Goods
All your goods should arrive in perfect condition, however, if you do receive goods that appear to be faulty or damaged, please notify the courier on delivery and advise Harmsworth, Townley & Co. Ltd within 3 working days of receipt. This applies to any items that may appear to be missing, unless stated on the invoice that the item is currently out of stock. If any items are not to be used straight away, we advise our customers to check that the goods have been received in perfect condition and in working order. Harmsworth, Townley & Co. Ltd will do everything possible to ensure your delivery arrives on time and intact. We will not accept responsibility for any additional expenses incurred due to late or incomplete deliveries.

Any products which are returned unopened, unused and undamaged in line with the Distance Selling Directive are entitled to a 100% refund of the price of the product if Harmsworth, Townley & Co. Ltd are informed within 7 days from receipt of goods. The Customer then has a further 7 days to return the product at their own expense. All goods returned must be clearly labelled and have full documentation enclosed, including the reason for the return together with a Harmsworth Townley & Co. Ltd Returns Reference Number (RRN). All returnable goods must be reported to Harmsworth, Townley & Co. Ltd so that we know to expect a return package. Goods returned without notice or RRN will not be accepted. Carriage charges are non-refundable unless the goods are faulty.

Every effort has been made to ensure that the specifications and descriptions on this Website are correct at the time of going to print however technical data, dimensions and weight serve only as a guide. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the components they are ordering are suitable for the application they have in mind. For this reason Harmsworth, Townley & Co. Ltd is willing to provide data sheets, if available, when requested. Sometimes product specifications may change, in such instances we will do our very best to inform you when placing your order. No guarantee is given or implied that goods will conform in absolute detail to the description or illustrations published.

Printing and Pricing Errors
We try our very best to ensure prices and descriptions on the website are correct at all times and will always aim to correct any errors as soon as we become aware of them. However, we will only accept orders if there are no errors in the prices of the products ordered, as advertised on this website. Harmsworth, Townley & Co. Ltd also reserves the right to change prices at any time. Harmsworth, Townley & Co. Ltd will not be held liable for any errors or omissions. In the event a product is listed at a wrong price due to a typographical (human) error or incorrect pricing information received from our suppliers, we have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed prior to a contract being made.

Statutory Rights
These Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a customer.

Product Guarantees
All products carry a standard 12 month guarantee (unless otherwise stated) providing usage is in accordance with its specification. If your product should fail within this period, please contact Harmsworth, Townley & Co. Ltd. If your product develops a fault within 7 days of receipt, we will generally exchange or refund the item provided it is in ‘as-new’ condition. This does not apply to faults caused by accident, neglect or misuse, for which there will be no refund or exchange. If your purchase develops a fault after 7 days and within its 12 month guarantee period we will organise a repair or exchange of the product for you free of charge (UK only). This does not apply to faults caused by weather damage, accident, neglect or misuse for which there can be no refund or exchange.

Delivery Charges

A standard UK mainland delivery charge (Zone 1) will be automatically calculated on your order and added to your shopping basket (See Delivery Charges Page). If your delivery address lies outside Zone 1, but within the UK you must select the appropriate delivery zone when finally placing your order and the correct carriage will be automatically applied to your shopping basket. Where the order does not meet the minimum carriage requirements you will be notified and goods held until full payment is received. A high priority UK mainland delivery is available and can be selected when placing the order and is charged as indicated (See Delivery Charges Page). Delivery charges for export orders are not pre calculated on this website. Delivery charges for export orders are calculated based on the delivery country please contact us with any specific requirements.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Website at anytime and without prior notice: including changes to the disclaimers and the terms and conditions.

We shall not be held liable to you for any breach of these terms and conditions or any failure to provide or delay in providing our services through our site resulting from any circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including, without limitation, strikes, lock-outs and other industrial disputes, breakdown of systems or network access, fire, explosion or accident.

Privacy and Security

When you shop with us via our Website, all your financial transactions are entirely secure. Our secure server software encrypts all your payment details. The process scrambles all the information, allowing no unauthorised third party to intercept the data. They will use your information to enable them to process and deliver your order, manage payments and communicate with you about their products. Clearance Lines
All products featured in the clearance section of the website are sold on a “first come, first served” basis and are sold as seen (some product packaging may be damaged). Returns of clearance lines will not be accepted unless the product is faulty or damaged. Should clearance lines not be available at the point of processing the order and subsequently the order value drops below the small order charge level, appropriate to the area of delivery, charges will be applied.
